Trash in the streets of Abbotsford - BAD AND DISGUSTING !!!
I do not know how people can do this. It is really bad. I have taken my dog for a walk today and noticed that small park near to my place has been littered with trash. We live in such beautiful place but some people do not really care and they can't clean up after themselves. Please see attached picture. Is there anything we could do about it? I would think that bylaw service could install hidden cameras around the city to identify those who litter and give them huge fines. I think this is the only way to stop people dumping garbage everywhere.
Actually i do agree with you big time. Right now fines for basic littering start at $115 and, and if a person is summoned to court, they could be fined up to $2,000 and sent to jail for six months. However, as we can see almost everywhere id does not work. Fines should be way higher to deter people from littering. It is good idea to install cameras in spots where people do this constantly. The only problem can be connected with finances and budgets of particular divisions. This is something to think about and more and more people should take an action and talk about this problem loud.
Hello All. I have been watching your discussion and I would like to add my 5 cents. I was to Abbotsford and there is lots of trash in the streets. However, I think that this is wider problem and regards the whole British Columbia. I have noticed that there are not enough garbage bins in many cities and parts of the province. I think this could help us to keep our streets and parts clean and tidy. Do not get me wrong. I am not trying to justify people who litter and they should be definitely fined. What do you think about it? Are there enough garbage bins in an area you live in? share your thoughts.
